This advanced EMS course is designed to enhance the skills and decision-making abilities of EMTs responding to cardiac arrest emergencies. CPR 102: Managing the Cardiac Arrest Call covers high-performance CPR techniques, recognition of obvious signs of death, and effective scene management. Students will gain hands-on experience with mechanical CPR devices such as the LUCAS system, learn essential considerations for patients with Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs), and explore the unique challenges posed by carbon monoxide poisoning, drowning incidents, and other complex medical emergencies. This course builds upon foundational CPR knowledge, preparing EMTs to deliver confident, competent care in high-stakes situations.
