
Devin Hinchcliffe

Devin Hinchcliffe entered emergency services in 2013 by joining the Roseland First Aid Squad and served as a lieutenant within the department. He additionally joined the Roseland Fire Department in 2016 and is certified in Firefighter I. In 2015, he began working as an EMT at Atlantic Ambulance and in 2019 began working as an EMT at the Morris County Office of Emergency Management- Emergency Medical Services. Devin maintains certifications in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), Pediatric Emergency Pre-Hospital Provider (PEPP), Tactical Medical Practitioner (TMP), and Machinery Rescue Technician. He is an American Heart Association CPR/First Aid instructor and regularly teaching these courses for a number of agencies/ organizations.
In 2017, Devin graduated from the Essex County Police Academy Basic Police Class 17-1, and was initially hired by the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Police Department. During his time with the department, he was assigned specifically to narcotics investigations. In 2018, he transferred to the Florham Park Police Department where he was assigned to the Patrol Division. In 2022, he transferred to the Piscataway Township Police Department, and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division. He has completed Basic Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Fundamentals and the five-day Full Spectrum Response Course from HADES Consulting. In 2019, Devin was awarded with the department’s Medal of Honor and the 200 Club’s Valor Award for his role in removing victims from a burning building. He was also inducted into the New Jersey Police Honor Legion for the same incident.
In 2021, he completed the selection process to become a Medical Specialist with the Morris County Special Operations Group (SOG) which is the emergency medical component of the Morris County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) tasked to care for downed police officers assigned to the tactical team. SERT and SOG are primarily tasked with the execution of high-risk search warrants, handling of barricaded subjects, active shooter response and any other law enforcement function that requires specialized tactics, equipment and training.
Devin graduated in 2020 from Saint Elizabeth University with a Bachelor’s of Justice Studies. EMP Training LLC’s website is also designed and managed by Devin.
